From Kung Fu kid to Hollywood star, Melbourne’s Chris Pang is breaking barriers on and off screen. The Chinese-Australian actor and his family speak candidly about their successes in business, life and sport and how their Asian identity and culture have shaped their story.  A passion for educating and building bridges, for empowering the next generation, is a family trait.

Chris Pang is a current day trailblazer, just as William Ah Ket, the first Chinese-Australian barrister was. Separated by over a century – there are parallels to their stories.

The Foundation funded William Ah Ket Leadership program, run by ANU is another example of barrier breaking work that platforms the next generation of leaders.

Celebrating and elevating Chinese-Australian contributions to Australian life is an important objective of the Foundation’s work. Stories like the Pang’s and Wiliam Ah Ket speak volumes on the diverse ways Chinese Australians enrich our society.
